RCMP arrest Langford man after armed robbery at a Canadian Tire

West Shore RCMP arrested a man allegedly in connection with an armed robbery in Langford earlier this week.

Just before 7:30 p.m. on November 1st, officers were called to Canadian Tire at 855 Langford Parkway after reports of an armed robbery in progress.

According to reports, employees of the Canadian Tire had confronted a male for shoplifting when he allegedly pulled out a machete to intimidate staff. 

No staff were physically injured during the incident. 

The suspect fled the premises with a nail pulling tool, out the receiving door and over a fence. 

When police arrived, the suspect was already gone. 

Now, West Shore RCMP have identified 32 year-old John Crawford as the suspect in the incident. 

Crawford has been arrested by the West Shore RCMP Crime Reduction Unit and criminal charges have been approved against him by BC Prosecution Service.
