University 40, Highland 8, in Ault: University dominated its way to its first win of the season. Bulldogs junior quarterback Coel Croissant completed 8 of 8 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball 16 times for 84 yards. University ran for 300 yards and five touchdowns as a team. Five different ball-carriers found the end zone. Senior Kian Baxley caught three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. The Bulldogs improved to 1-3 with the nonleague win. Highland fell to 0-4.

Severance 3, Roosevelt 2, in Johnstown: Severance gained a 2-1 advantage in the first half then did just enough to fend off Roosevelt in the second half. Senior Jahaziel Gonzalez scored all three of the Silver Knights’ goals. Juniors Jacob Wehage and Sean Siefken each had a goal for the Rough Riders. Severance improved to 4-4 overall, 1-1 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play. Roosevelt fell to 2-5, 0-1.

Union Colony 6, Campion Academy 5, in Loveland: Union Colony picked up its first win of the season in this high-scoring affair. The Timberwolves took a 3-1 halftime lead before scoring three more goals in the second half to fend off Campion’s rally. Union Colony sophomore Izaiah Gamez had a hat trick, senior Bennet Labet had two goals, and sophomore Marcos Armendariz had one goal. The Timberwolves improved to 1-7 overall, 1-5 in 2A Mile High West play.

Frontier Academy 10, Sterling 0, in Greeley: Frontier Academy’s dominant ways continued, as the Wolverines improved to 5-2-1 overall, 1-0 in 3A/2A Patriot League play. Frontier scored six goals in the first half and four more in the second.

Niwot 3, Northridge 0, in Niwot: Northridge suffered its first loss of the season, finding no openings against a solid Niwot squad. The Cougars scored two goals in the first half and one more in the second. The Grizzlies fell to 5-1-1 overall, 0-1 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play.

Timnath 3, Valley 1, in Timnath: First-year Timnath denied Valley its first win of the season, as the Vikings fell to 0-6 overall, 0-1 in 3A/2A Patriot League play. The match was tied at 1 before the Cubs scored two unanswered goals in the second half. Junior Aidan Brownell had Valley’s sole goal.

Liberty Common 10, Weld Central 0, in Fort Collins: Liberty Common was able to score five goals in each half, and Weld Central was unable to match that offensive output in this league game. The Rebels fell to 2-5 overall, 0-1 in 3A/2A Patriot League play.

Eaton 19, Platte Valley 4, 3 inn., in Eaton: Eaton bounced back nicely from a rare loss, scoring at least four runs in each of the three innings. Senior Shelby Pribelsky led the Reds, hitting 2 for 2 with a triple, five RBI and three runs. Freshman Rayelle Navarro had four RBI, a double and two runs on 3-for-3 hitting. Eaton was also solid in the pitcher’s circle, as junior Stephanie Bingley allowed four unearned runs on three hits, striking out three and walking three. The Reds improved to 9-5 overall, 4-1 in 3A/4A Patriot League play. Platte Valley fell to 8-9, 1-5.

University 10, Resurrection Christian 2, in Loveland: University, impressively, secured its fifth consecutive win to improve to 11-5 overall, 5-0 in 3A/4A Patriot League play. The Bulldogs started fast, going up 8-0 in the top of the second inning. They out-hit Resurrection Christian 14-6. Freshman Sydney Goetzel went 2 for 5 with a double, three RBI and two runs for University. Sophomore Addison Harding went 4 for 5 with two RBI and two runs. Freshman Jasi Cole was solid in the circle for the Bulldogs, allowing one earned run on six hits, striking out seven and walking three. Senior Alexis Knapp had Resurrection Christian’s only RBI, on 1-for-4 hitting. The Cougars fell to 9-4 overall, 4-3 in 3A/4A Patriot League play.

Fort Lupton 13, Jefferson 1, 4 inn., in Edgewater: Fort Lupton won for the fifth consecutive time to improve to 12-6 overall, 4-0 in 3A Frontier League play. The Bluedevils out-hit Jefferson 7-0.

Weld Central 8, Sterling 5, in Keenesburg: Weld Central’s recent string of impressive wins continued, as the Rebels knocked off the fifth-ranked team in 3A, according to CHSAANow.com. After briefly falling behind 2-0, Weld Central gained the early advantage, going up 4-2 in the second inning. The Rebels scored in every inning but one. Seven Weld Central players each had one RBI. Sophomore Annastasia Hernandez and senior Samantha Stam each had two hits and an RBI. Hernandez also pitched all seven innings, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits, striking out three and walking two. Weld Central improved to 10-8 overall, 3-4 in 3A/4A Patriot League play.

Severance 22, Skyline 0, 3 inn., in Longmont: Severance earned its most dominant win of the season to improve to 3-14 overall, 3-8 in 4A Longs Peak play. The Silver Knights scored all 22 of their runs in the first two innings. They out-hit Skyline 12-3.

Valley 11, Wellington 10, in Wellington: Valley took the lead with an eight-run third inning then staved off a late rally attempt by first-year Wellington. The Vikings led 11-6 after the top of the sixth inning. The Eagles scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth but couldn’t complete the comeback. Valley improved to 6-8 overall, 2-3 in 3A/4A Patriot League play.

Silver Creek 17, Greeley Central 0, 3 inn., in Longmont: Greeley Central suffered its fourth consecutive loss, falling to 4-14 overall, 0-4 in 4A Northern Colorado Athletic Conference play. Silver Creek out-hit the Wildcats 6-0.

Greeley West 5, Greeley Central 2, at GCHS: Greeley Central won two of three singles matches, but Greeley West won all four doubles matches in this clash between crosstown rivals. In the tightest match of the day, Spartans sophomore Gavin Petersen and freshman Chris Jamison defeated junior Daniel Kiburz and freshman Everett Mash 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. At No. 1 singles, Wildcats junior Reid Richardson topped senior Ashtyn DeNovellis 6-2, 6-3. Greeley West improved to 3-5 overall. Greeley Central fell to 2-6.

University 7, Northridge 0, at NHS: University kept rolling, winning all seven matches in straight sets. The Bulldogs improved to 6-3 with this nonleague win. Northridge fell to 1-7.

Platte Valley 3, University 0, in Kersey: Platte Valley comfortably secured this battle of top-10 teams, 25-8, 25-21, 25-11. Sophomore Karsyn Fetzer led the Broncos with 22 kills and 10 digs. Fellow Platte Valley sophomore Lauryn Uyemura had seven aces, 33 assists, seven digs and two blocks. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Broncos, who improved to 12-4 overall, 5-1 in 3A/4A Patriot League play. University fell to 8-4, 4-1. Platte Valley is ranked fourth in 3A by CHSAANow.com. The Bulldogs are third.

Severance 3, Northridge 0, in Greeley: Severance put forth a consistent effort to win 25-19, 25-19, 25-19. The Silver Knights improved to 6-2 overall, 1-1 in 4A/3A Longs Peak play. Northridge fell to 4-6, 0-1.

Weld Central 3, Highland 0, in Keenesburg: Weld Central was in control throughout this nonleague match, winning 25-13, 25-15, 25-21. The Rebels snapped a four-match losing streak and improved to 4-9 overall. Highland fell to 2-7.

Valley 3, Strasburg 2, in Strasburg: Valley secured this five-set nail-biter — 25-16, 20-25, 25-15, 13-25, 15-4 — to win its sixth consecutive match and improve to 8-1 overall, 3-1 in 3A/4A Patriot League play. Sophomore Nevaeh Jimenez had 13 kills, 14 assists and 20 digs for the Vikings. Senior Hannah Archambo added 10 kills, 13 digs, four blocks and three aces. Fellow senior Taeya Jimenez racked up 24 digs and 19 assists.

Eaton 3, Brush 0, in Eaton: Eaton extended its win streak to seven matches with its third consecutive sweep, 25-12, 25-6, 25-6. Seniors Emily Maske and Ainslie Ross continued to help guide the Reds with seven kills apiece. Sophomore Evelyn Gavette had nine of the team’s 20 aces. Gavette also had 12 digs. Senior Rylee Martin added 24 assists and three blocks. Eaton improved to 10-1 overall, 5-0 in 3A/4A Patriot League play.

Dayspring Christian 3, Denver Christian 0, in Denver: Dayspring won its third consecutive match via a sweep, 25-17, 25-22, 25-15. Senior Aliya McClanahan led the Eagles with 19 kills and five blocks. Fellow Dayspring senior Lily Beauvais had 13 digs, three aces and seven kills. The Eagles improved to 5-6 overall, 3-0 in 2A/1A Mile High League play.

Fort Lupton 3, Arvada 0, in Fort Lupton: Fort Lupton quickly secured this league match, 25-5, 25-15, 25-18, to snag its seventh consecutive win. The Bluedevils improved to 7-3 overall, 7-0 in 3A/2A Frontier League play. Junior Alissa Clark led the way with eight kills. Sophomore Dani Aviles had six aces and nine digs.

Resurrection Christian 3, Berthoud 0, in Berthoud: Resurrection Christian won its fourth match via a sweep to improve to 6-1 overall, 4-0 in 3A/4A Patriot League play. The Cougars won by set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-18. Three Resurrection Christian players had eight kills apiece: junior Mackenzie Flikkema, senior Reagan McWhinney and senior Ella Grimes. Juniors Bailey Mares and Sophia Knevelbaard had five and four aces, respectively.

Frederick 3, Roosevelt 1, in Johnstown: Roosevelt dropped a competitive four-set match, 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-21. The Rough Riders fell to 6-4 overall, 0-2 in 4A/3A Longs Peak League play.

Longmont 3, Greeley West 0, in Greeley: Greeley West saw its three-match win streak come to an end, falling to 5-5 overall, 2-1 in 4A Northern Colorado Athletic Conference play. Longmont won by set scores of 26-24, 25-21, 25-17. Sophomore Kaitlyn Fenton led the Spartans with eight kills. Senior Olivia Pearson had three aces. Senior Kylee Wolfe had 16 digs, and junior Chelsie Roberts had 14 assists.

Timnath 3, Frontier Academy 0, in Greeley: Frontier Academy was unable to grab a set from first-year Timnath, falling 25-19, 25-21, 25-18. Senior Samantha Walsh had eight kills and four blocks for the Wolverines. Junior Anisty Shepherd added six blocks. Frontier Academy fell to 6-5 overall, 2-4 in 3A/4A Patriot League play.

Gilpin County 3, Union Colony 1, in Black Hawk: Union Colony avoided the sweep but ultimately fell 25-12, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21. Senior Lana Coron led the Timberwolves with 29 digs, 13 kills and three aces. Fellow senior Mariah Glasper had 18 digs and 12 kills. Union Colony fell to 4-7 overall, 2-2 in 2A/1A Mile High League play.

Fleming 3, Briggsdale 1, in Fleming: Briggsdale dropped this league match to the second-ranked team in 1A, according to CHSAANow.com. The Falcons, meanwhile, came in ranked ninth. The Wildcats won 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20. Briggsdale fell to 8-4 overall, 2-2 in 1A North Central play.
